It has been quite a while since we shot this promo video for Furious Photographers… I think the result is still pretty awesome.
Furious Photographers hired us to go with them to Cancun and Isla Mujeres to shoot two weddings back to back. Well… we were there to shoot a promo of them and not really the weddings. We did end up shooting a Cancun wedding video as well, but that was just for fun.
Many of you may be interested in how we shot the photography promo video, what equipment was used and how it was edited. Here are tome technical details about the promo video:
Cameras used: Canon 5D Mark II and Canon HV20
Camera Stabalizers: Stedicam Merlin and monopod
Software used: iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Motion, PFhoe, photoshop and compressor.
Music used with permission by: Paul Dateh and Ken Belcher
Some of my favorite shots are when we took two boats out to sea off the coast of Tulum. It was pretty amazing to be shooting out there on the water, the Canon 5D Mark II even got a little wet.

Gorgeous work guys as usual! Great Promo I love it!

We did try some new things in this one… Thanks.
Awesome work guys. I like the synchronized burst of stills with the music. It really hammers home the importance of choosing the right music.
That and I’ve got a pretty good idea of how long it took to put just those 5 seconds of finished video together.
Hi Kyle!
Yeah… getting the right music for a video usually takes more time than editing the video.
Awesome video. You guys rock…also sweet images from Furious!!!
Regards,
Carl
great video. like your style!
How do you to the still shot “fly-by”? Which software does that?
I use a combination of photoshop, apple motion 3 and final cut pro for that… I'll be making a tutorial about it soon…
