Lan and I have been fans of Battlestar Galactica for quite a while… though he was into it well before me. I had thought it was a bit too geeky sounding for me… but finally he got me to agree to watch the mini-series… and I was hooked.
Anastasia and Matt do the successful shows BSGcast and Your Geek News. BSGcast basically goes into the details of each episode after it airs and discusses possible future happenings as well as interpreting some of the more difficult to understand plot elements. We think it’s great!
They were in town for their BSGcast Final Frak Party Season 4.5 Premiere in LA. We had communicated before but never met (as with many of our internet friends) so we took this opportunity to visit with each other and do a quick shoot of Anastasia right in the parking garage of the Sheraton where the screenings, party and auction were being held.
The video was shot by Aaron Dieppa as part of his daily show, The Big Picture. As usual we didn’t have a permit or permission to shoot at our location… and security came (actually they stopped by twice) and there was a… well… altercation. Curious? Watch it!

The video of the shoot is very cool. Had great fun watching it. And by the way thanks for the quick info on the lighting setup. Always helps us beginner photographers out a lot.
@Sam Figueroa, I’m glad you liked the video! We were beginners once too and I know I would watch every shoot video I could and go pretty much frame by frame seeing how the photographer worked.

@Aaron Dieppa, I’m so glad you came and shot all of the footage!!! Usually we make simple quick videos, but this allowed us to have some good fun.

You guys did an amazing job! I mean, Anastasia is one of the most beautiful people on the planet, sure, but your photos are just incredible. I love ‘em all! Especially the one where she’s brandishing the baseball bat like a street thug. You really captured her essence :)
