Vu and I were so happy to be hired to shoot The Guild Season Three DVD cover!!! We were fortunate enough to have done a photo shoot of Felicia Day before and when we got the call to shoot the DVD for The Guild Season 3 we got very excited. (Thank you so much Kim [...]
A few weeks ago, Vu and I (The Bui Brothers) had a great time shooting photos of Justine Ezarik. You may know her as iJustine… if that is the case, please enjoy these photos of iJustine.
One of our goals was to give iJustine photos of herself that were unique and something out of her element. [...]
Makeup, styling and video (her first ever) by Tracie Cotta. Video shot entirely on iPhone 3GS.
Tracie set up this shoot with Micah, choosing “silent film” as our look for the shoot. We decided on Old Town Orange as the location… having an older look than most areas in Orange County. We also decided to add [...]
A few weeks ago Vu and I were given the pleasure of shooting Felicia Day to give her updated headshots and some awesome promo images. If you don’t know who Felicia Day is, here is a bit about her taken from her website:
Felicia is most widely known for her work in web video, and co-starred [...]
Here it is!!! The long awaited behind the scenes video from Veronica Belmont’s photo shoot with The Bui Brothers.
We could not have done this without the help of the following wonderful people:
Veronica Belmont – Awesome Girl
Schlomo Rabinowitz and House of Shields bar – Killer location
Carlie Renee – Makeup and Style
Paul Dateh and Ken Belcher – [...]
Vu and I had been waiting for just about a year to do photos for Sarah Atwood. I think the wait was well worth it, everything came out awesome.

We’re speaking at the Video Marketing Expo going on in Austin right now, with Brigitte Dale and many other awesome people (we’ll share more later).
I just wanted to quickly post the video we played as the intro to our keynote presentation… showing how we like to do behind-the-scenes videos of our shoots… then the “final [...]
Lan and I were flown to Cancun by Doug and Lawrence (Furious Photographers) to shoot a photographer’s promo video of them. They somehow booked two weddings back to back in Cancun… with a Day After session after the second wedding (which actually won’t happen until tomorrow).
As part of our project we were also delivering a [...]
Khara Plicanic of Kabloom Studios contacted us about shooting a promo video for her some time last summer, starting the conversation… of course… via Twitter DM. Remember when you had to actually pick up a phone or even drive down to their shop to hire someone for something? Anyhow… she is super cool and fun [...]

When is a rainy day a bad day for a shoot??? Never, that is what we learned.
I’m sure you already know who Brigitte Dale is. If you don’t… she is Yahoo! Video Best Internet Personality of the Year 2008, a triple century video blogger (only 18 more and she will be quad century) who [...]
A few nights ago we shot a good friend of ours, Rudy Jahchan because he needed an updated headshot. Here is our favorite from the shoot:
Lan and I have been fans of Battlestar Galactica for quite a while… though he was into it well before me. I had thought it was a bit too geeky sounding for me… but finally he got me to agree to watch the mini-series… and I was hooked.
Anastasia and Matt do the successful shows BSGcast [...]
Last month Vu, Carlie and I went to San Francisco to shoot a few peoples photographs. You may have seen Neha Tiwari’s or Sarah Lane’s floating around; but we had two more photo shoots while we were there… Schlomo Rabinowitz and Veronica Belmont. You are going to have to wait a bit more to see [...]
Vu and I have been working with Dane Sanders on a new exciting project for the last few months. If you don’t know who Dane is, he is a Wedding Photographer who is also an educational leader in his industry. You can find out about him here.
Ask Dane is a weekly video blog where Dane [...]
Neha was the reason Vu and I planned a photo trip to San Francisco. She had contacted me a long time ago (after she saw Veronica Belmont’s previous shoots by us) and asked if we would ever be in the San Franciso area so we could do some photos for her. At the time we [...]
This morning before we left San Francisco, from our 3 day photo trip, we met up with Sarah Lane for a 15 minute headshot photo shoot. You may know her from TV shows such as The Screen Savers and Attack of the Show, or an IPTV show PopSiren.
The shoot took place in Fisherman’s Warf and [...]
Vu and I had a great time at the KISSmas Party. Here is a quick video of the night!
Technical note:
All of the footage is from Nikon D90’s. They are pretty great at video!
Vu and I shot the amazing woman known to many of her fans as Zadi the Hottie (TM) to give her some updated headshots as well as some Bad Ass Cool Ass photos. Zadi is the host and co-creator of a web show and community called EPIC FU. If you want to watch one of [...]
Here is the new Shootsac sale video! We have so much fun doing these videos for them.
During the shoot on the beach someone from New York came up to Jessica Claire and asked to take a picture of her. She gladly posed. I wonder what story that person will tell her friends when she shows [...]
This is the second teaser for Gabriel and Carlie’s new video suite, set to release within the next few weeks in conjunction with their new website.
This video was shot in Hawaii, and is our second example of 3D text living in a motion video world. For those of you who watch TV, you [...]
The Boudoir Divas, Kimberlee West and Marissa Boucher, are an amazing photography duo based in San Diego who teach boudoir photography to both aspiring and experienced photographers. Lan and I met with them a few months back and we instantly connected with their vision to educate and work with other photographers. They will be offering [...]
When Gabriel and Carlie told us they wanted to make the promo video to end all promo videos, we were totally excited. Their work is fantastic and we love working with people we can really connect with and work creatively together. This is a little preview of things to come. Very soon.

We, Lan Bui and Vu Bui (The Bui Brothers), were hired to fly out to New York City to shoot another episode of Shoot The Sh!t with Jessica Claire. This is a comedic series of videos we made for The [ b ] School Blog that has been very popular. Jessica Claire is so awesome [...]
A few weeks ago Vu and I had the pleasure of shooting some amazing things for Kimberlee West and Marissa Boucher… known together to the world as The Boudoir Divas. We can’t tell you much about what we were shooting, but here is a short promo video we put together for them with some of the extra footage [...]

This is a super short post to follow up the last one, it announces our iTunes gift card winner, Katie Beverly… and also gives a final thought (for now) on Twitter.
Here’s Katie, follow her on Twitter!

A future episode about equipment is what I need. Computers, software, cameras, lenses – whatever! All I know I have dug up on other [b]logs or websites, but it’s always just a snippet. I wouldn’t mind a (no-so-short) video on what you think the most important equipment is to a photographer. Thanks for doing this!!

I’m barely interested in what I’m doing if I don’t have a camera in my hand. : ) OK. So I’m a little cranky before my coffee this morning.

I wish your videos are subtitled or have transcripts as I am profoundly deaf and a photographer too . . . so I just have to look at the pictures or your diagrams, etc to figure out …a bit (okay, a lot more) extra work just to get what y’all are saying.
There are a lot of deaf photographers out there who would benefit from people who include subtitles or transcripts.
Overall, your work is fabulous! I just found about you today, and spend the day looking at your videos, btw . . .

Hi Charlene!
Thanks for letting us know. Whenever possible we do try to include as much description of the video in text, but I’m sure it isn’t enough for someone that is deaf.
